You're having a new baby! How exciting! There's so much to plan. This can be a daunting time as well. Life as you knew it will never be the same. But let's focus on the excitement of your new arrival. Will your baby have his or her own nursery, or will they be in your bedroom? I've experienced both during my child-bearing years. Due to logistics at the time, two of my four children had their own rooms, and two stayed in our bedroom for the first few months of their lives.
Either way, you need to decide on baby bedding. I recommend cotton material for all your baby's crib bedding. It's soft against their skin, with less chance of causing rashes. Cotton is easy to wash and dry. The sheets you choose should be snug fitting to your crib mattress. I'd buy at least three fitted sheets for those middle of the night "changes" which are sure to occur. You always want to have a clean sheet handy!

There's also the fun part of choosing your baby's bedding. Colors, storybook characters, or varied themes; the choices are endless. You may already have a theme in mind; but if you don't there are plenty of ideas out there to choose from. And if you're into having your sheets match your blankets, and your baby blankets match your mobiles, many online sites have adorable selections of matching items to choose from.
Bath time can be a fun time for your baby and you. Your newborn will feel more secure in a small baby bathtub. And after baby's bath, being wrapped in a nice, soft hooded towel to keep him or her snugly and warm in your arms. Burp cloths and baby bibs are other essentials. You will want to be sure to have plenty of each on hand. And it's always fun to match. There are so many fun prints available which are sure to please you and your new baby.
Cherish this time in your life. It sweeps by much too quickly. I'm a grandmother now and I don't know where the twenty-six years of time went when I held my first baby boy in my arms. He's now a dad, himself.
